Ashadi Ekadashi - Dindi
It was in the year 1990 we started organizing a Dindi Procession on the eve of Aashadhi Ekadashi in Vile Parle.This was started to commemorate the 700 th Anniversary of completion of Dnyaneshwari by the great saint & poet Dnyaneshwar Maharaj.Since then every year we are organizing this program on the evening of Aashadhi Ekadashi. A troupe of Warkari Mandali also accompanies us on the route from Hanuman Mandir in Kankuwadi taking the procession thru' the main market area & then upto the Vitthal Mandir on Tejpal Scheme Road No.3. The procession begins every year around 7.00 in the evening & ends up at around 8.30 covering a small portion of Vile Parle on this route.
This year too this Dindi Procession was organized on 7th July 2006 in the same grandeur & traditional fashion.The feature of this Dindi Procession is the presence of a sizable number of younger generation which is really a heartening site to watch.
