Close PTV Summer Camp For last couple of years JSS has been organizing a Summer Camp for the students of Parle Tilak Vidyalaya-Marathi Medium during their Summer Vacations.All the students from their 8th Std are trained in various activities.Year by year this program is gaining popularity among the students & even the school Management.This year too,the success story was repeated.Here is a short report on our yet another achievement. A three day Summer Camp for the students was conducted by us in the month of April 2006.The various programs & activities that were introduced to an astonishing 480 number of students included : Mountaineering - Rappelling & Valley Crossing Group Song & Prayer Pranayam & Surya-Namaskar Kung-Fu Wild Life Slide shows Personality Development Civil Defense Origami Snake Show etc. Experts from various fields were summoned for this program to guide the students on the above subjects.A detailed program was worked out & the students were divided in six equal groups.Each group was named after our state of the Art Technology Defense Missile , developed by our President Dr.Abdul J.Kalam.The timetable of the camp was scheduled in such a fashion that each group got a chance to get introduced to every activity planned for them. The time allotted for the camp was hardly 5.30 hrs per day & hence in-depth training in the above subjects could not be imparted to the students.Of course,the objective of the school Management behind organizing such multifaceted program on large scale & that too for a record number of 480 students at a time , had a limited vision of making the students only aware of such extra-curricular activities.Hence a packed 3 days program was inevitable. Needless to say,the students enjoyed the Mountaineering activity the most.We also had to raise a group of about 30 volunteers who worked & ran hard relentlessly to keep up the time schedules & manage the multifold activities....Looking at this, one may mistaken all this exercise as a venture of outsourcing activities for the third party.However,we look at it from a different perspective.For us we feel such activities & responsibilities are good opportunities to taste our strengths & weaknesses as they always demand a very intricate planning & execution for successful completion.The volunteers also get a field training & hand on experience for handling responsibilities & pressures. I am proud to inform you that our band of volunteers have overcome all the hurdles with distinction & proved their mettle.The program went ahead smoothly & ended on a happy note with flawless execution.Thanks to the great efforts,dedication & team-work of our volunteers !!!! Time & again such programs have helped us resharpen our skills.Therefore, I wish to reiterate the fact that our dedicated team of young volunteers is our real strength & over the years it is proving to be a great asset for us.
